Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Sketchli Pty Ltd ("Sketchli", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit sketchli.com, use our free tools (the Idea Reality Check and the AI Readiness Check), subscribe to our newsletter, or engage our services.

We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained within it. Where applicable, we also adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for individuals located in the European Economic Area.

By using our website or services, you acknowledge you have read and understood this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

Contact and enquiry information

  • Name, email address, business name, and message when you submit our contact form
  • Your consent to be contacted, and the date and time you gave it
  • The page of our site you submitted the form from

Free tools (Idea Reality Check and AI Readiness Check)

  • The answers you enter into the Idea Reality Check or the AI Readiness Check, and the report we generate from them — both are stored when the report is generated
  • If you unlock your report by giving us your details: your name, email, phone number, budget range, next-move answer, and any feedback you give us, linked to that report

Newsletter

  • Your email address, and, if you give it, your first name
  • Your consent to receive the newsletter, and the date and time you gave it, and the page you signed up from

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, used for rate-limiting and spam/abuse checks on our forms and tools
  • If analytics is enabled, standard browser data such as browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, financial, or biometric data) unless it is strictly necessary and you have given explicit consent.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide the services you have requested
  • Generate and deliver the report from the Idea Reality Check or the AI Readiness Check, and follow up if you've asked us to
  • Email you a private link back to your own report when you unlock it, so you can return to it at any time
  • Send the monthly newsletter digest to subscribers who have given consent — every email includes an unsubscribe link
  • Improve our free tools and website using aggregate, de-identified usage data
  • Comply with our legal obligations under Australian law and, where applicable, the GDPR

We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the reason it was originally collected without first obtaining your consent.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We share information with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf and are only permitted to use it for the purpose we've engaged them for:

  • OpenRouter, which routes the answers you submit to the Idea Reality Check and the AI Readiness Check to a large-language-model provider (currently Anthropic's Claude models) to generate your report. Your answers are not used by us to train any AI model.
  • Mailgun, to send transactional email — enquiry confirmations, your report, and newsletter emails, including the welcome email and unsubscribe confirmations.
  • Google Cloud Platform, which hosts our website and database (Cloud Run and Cloud SQL), including the Australia region where configured.
  • Cloudflare, whose Turnstile service and an invisible honeypot field help us tell real visitors from bots on our forms.
  • Google Analytics (GA4), only if analytics is enabled on our site, with IP anonymisation turned on.

If you click our WhatsApp link, you'll leave our site and continue the conversation in WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own terms and privacy policy.

We may also disclose your information where required by law, a court order, or a government authority, or where we have a legitimate legal obligation to do so under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) or other applicable legislation.

If your information is transferred to service providers located outside Australia, we will take reasonable steps to ensure it receives equivalent privacy protections in accordance with APP 8.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required by applicable law. In particular:

  • Tool responses and reports. We keep the answers you give the Idea Reality Check or the AI Readiness Check, and the report we generate, for as long as you may want to return to them. Each report has a private link, which we include in the email you receive when you unlock it, so you can come back to your results at any time. You can ask us to delete a report, and the answers behind it, whenever you like by emailing hello@sketchli.com.
  • Leads and enquiries. We keep your contact-form and report-unlock details for as long as there is an ongoing relationship with you, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Newsletter. We keep your subscription details until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record afterwards so we don't accidentally re-add you.

When your information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or de-identify it in accordance with our internal data retention procedures.

6. Security

We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including hosting our database on Google Cloud Platform's managed infrastructure.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We encourage you to exercise caution when transmitting personal information online.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't sell or share your data for advertising purposes.

When you use the Idea Reality Check or the AI Readiness Check, we use your browser's sessionStorage to keep your progress as you move between steps. This stays in your browser only — we don't read it, and it's cleared when you close the tab.

If analytics is enabled (Google Analytics 4, with IP anonymisation turned on), analytics cookies may be set to understand aggregate usage patterns. This data is processed in de-identified form and does not personally identify you. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; disabling them may affect the functionality of some parts of our website.

8. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information
  • Deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal obligation we have to keep it
  • Complain to us, or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), if you believe we have not handled your information in accordance with the APPs

If you are located in the EEA, you may also have the right to erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain types of processing under the GDPR.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@sketchli.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and no later than 30 days.

Our website may contain links to external websites that are not operated by Sketchli, including WhatsApp. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of those sites and accept no responsibility for them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
